Call for Abstracts
Abstract submission is now closed.
We have received more than 720 abstracts for general presenation this year. Thank you for your submission.
An SBJ member may make one (1) general presentation. If you are a nonmember, join SBJ now.
- Speakers must register for the meeting online before abstract submission unless otherwise pre-arranged.

- The time allocated for each general presentation is 12 minutes (including 3 minutes for discussion).
- All presentations will be made orally using LCD projectors.
- Speakers are requested to bring their own PC.
- Avoid red-green combination on you PowerPoint files––members of your audience may be red/green colorblind.
- Speakers will be informed of their presentation schedule by e-mail when the official program is finalized (around the end of July, 2012).
Guidelines: Abstract submission for general presentations
The abstracts will be published exactly as submitted. It is the responsibility of the submitting author to supply the abstract with accuracy of content, spelling and presentation. Please note that no modification can be made after June 22, 2012.
Character count limit
1,646 characters (including title, authors' names, affiliations, and key words).
No graphs, tables, or photographs are accepted.
Title of presentation
Avoid any abbreviation in the title.
Authors
The author's name should be written completely, avoid any abbreviation.
Surname(s) of the author (s) first, followed by given name(s).
Affiliation abbreviation
Abbreviate all authors' affiliations (e.g. Graduate School of Biotechnology, Osaka University→Grad. Sch. Biotech., Osaka Univ.).
Category
Select TWO (first and second choices) technological fields and specialized areas.

Keywords
Provide at least one key word (up to four words).
Corresponding author's email address
Provide an e-mail address of the author who is responsible for correspondence on your research.
"Seeding" opportunity
The Society regards the annual meeting as an important "seeding" opportunity for members from industry, academia and governmental institutions. It aims to facilitate the dissemination of research seeds as widely as possible through members' presentations and reports in the mass media. Please indicate your preference for seeding.
Remarks
Specify special characters (if any) so that non standard characters can be printed correctly in the Meeting Abstracts.
If there are more than 20 authors, the rest of the authors' information (surnames, given names and affiliations) can be provided in this field.
