Japan-Korea Biomass Symposium has been convened annually in Korea or Japan by turns by NPO Kinki Bio-Industry Development Organization. The symposium aims to promote interchange among biomass researchers in Korea and Japan and also to mutually facilitate the study of biomass in both countries. In 2012, it took place in Kobe as a part of ”International Symposium on Biotechnology for Green Growth” during the 90th Anniversary Meeting of the Society for Biotechnology, Japan (SBJ). The 7th symposium was held in Pyeongchang during KMB's 40th Anniversary 2013 International Symposium & Annual Meeting. This year, the 8th symposium will be held in Sapporo during the 66th SBJ Annual Meeting.
