Prof. Sung Kuk Lee’s research interests are the metabolic pathway engineering and the development of recombinant DNA tools to modify existing, or to introduce entirely new metabolic pathways and regulatory systems within cells in order to improve their capacity for overproduction of desired molecules (Biofuels, Bioplastics, Chemicals, Cosmetics, Drugs).

Dr. Jonghoon Choi is a full professor in the School of Integrative Engineering at Chung-Ang University. He is also an adjunct professor in the School of Dentistry at Yonsei University. Dr. Choi founded a biotech venture company in 2020, Feynman Institute of Technology, Nanomedicine Corp in Korea and served as the CEO of the same. Dr. Choi’s research aims to develop novel nanobiosensors and smart nanobiomaterials for their applications in nanomedicine.

Dr. Jong Uk Lee is an assistant professor in the department of Chemical Engineering at Sunchon National University. His research interests are Novel Approaches for Synthesis of Plasmonic Nanomaterials, Fundamental Studies for Biological Events, and Biomedical Applications of Nanoplasmonics.
Dr. Jiyoon Bu is an assistant professor of Biological Engineering at Inha University. Dr. Bu received his Ph.D. from the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST) in 2017 and worked as a postdoctoral researcher at the Pharmaceutical Sciences Division, School of Pharmacy, University of Wisconsin from 2017 to 2022.

Prof. Ethan I Lan (Natl. Yang Ming Chiao Univ.)
演題:Metabolic engineering for the biological synthesis of anti-catabolic agent hydroxymethylbutyrate
Dr. Ethan I Lan received his B.S. degree in Chemistry from the University of Maryland in 2009 and PhD degree in Biomedical Engineering from UCLA in 2009 where he worked with Professor James C. Liao on the development of microbial cell factory for biofuel production. His research in the metabolic engineering of cyanobacteria achieved the first direct photosynthetic conversion of CO2 into 1-butanol. He began his academic career as an Assistant Professor at National Chiao Tung University (Currently National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University, NYCU) in the Fall of 2014. He is currently a Professor and Associate Dean of the College of Biological Science and Technology at NYCU.
