Permission requests

  • Reproduction and Reuse
    ♦ Authors have a right to reuse their materials published in JBB. They do not need to obtain explicit permission from the Society for Biotechnology, Japan, provided appropriate bibliographic citation is given to the original source of publication, along with the title, volume number, pages, published year and a DOI link to the published article on ScienceDirect. Reproduction may be permitted for non-commercial, personal and academic purposes, provided the original work is properly cited.

Journal Author Archiving Policies

  • When the final version of the peer reviewed, accepted article is assigned to the volumes/issues of the publication, the Article in Press version will be removed and the final version will appear in the associated published volumes/issues of the publication on ScienceDirect. Once the final version is available in the published volumes/issues of the publication, authors may self-archive Accepted Author Manuscript (AAM)* on their own websites and also deposit this version of the article in non-commercial hosting platforms such as their institutional repository.

*Accepted Author Manuscript (“AAM”):
Author’s version of the manuscript of an article that has been accepted for publication and which may include any author-incorporated changes suggested through the processes of submission processing, peer review, and editor-author communications. AAMs should not include other publisher value added contributions such as copy-editing and formatting.

  • Authos cannot use the publisher's version (the final article), which is posted on ScienceDirect, for the purpose of self-archiving or deposit.
     
  • Authors may only post his/her version provided appropriate bibliographic citation is given to the original source of publication along with the title, volume number, pages, published year and a DOI link to the published article on ScienceDirect.
